As well as providing general medical services, the practice offers family planning, maternity services, cervical smears, child health surveillance and minor surgery. For these services, please telephone the surgery you normally attend to arrange an appointment. 

TEENAGERS

You have the right to a confidential consultation. It is better to get advice about contraception than to get pregnant. Your problem, whether it be bullying, alcohol or drug misuse or perhaps a desire to stop smoking, will be handled with sensitivity and confidentiality.

CHIROPODIST (PODIATRIST)

Patients can make appointments to see the chiropodist by contacting Carluke Health Centre on 01555 770635.

LADY HOME HOSPITAL

This is a 22-bedded general practitioner hospital catering for acute and chronic conditions. There is a minor injury service to deal with accidents and emergencies. They also provide palliative care.

MEDICAL CLINIC

This clinic is held on a regular basis at Lady Home Hospital by a consultant from Wishaw General Hospital. You will be given an appointment by a receptionist at the surgery you attend.

MINOR SURGERY

Dr Flowerdew carries out minor surgery. This may be removal of lumps, bumps or ingrowing toenails, injection of joints, etc. Depending on the procedure, you may be asked to attend Lady Home Hospital.

PHLEBOTOMY CLINIC

This is clinic is run by NHS Lanarkshire and enables patients to have their bloods taken at Lady Home Hospital

PRIVATE MEDICALS AND REPORTS

Certain medicals, reports and forms are not covered by the NHS. These will be charged at the BMA recommended rates. Please telephone or ask at reception for details.
