Practice Nurse - HND (Adult Nursing), Dip COPD

The Practice Nurse carries out a wide range of nursing procedures at the Practice. They are also specially trained in conducting a wide variety of well person screening, (including cervical smears), giving health promotional advice, monitoring some long-term medical conditions and providing some contraceptive advice. Other duties include smoking cessation advice, giving injections and applying dressings.

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners can see acute and long term health problems and can also issue prescriptions.

Our Healthcare Assistant carries out new patient assessments, takes bloods, monitors blood pressure, gives B12 injections and Flu immunisations and undertakes minor dressings and stitch removal.

Sheila, Pauline and Karen. The Phlebotomists are trained to take blood samples from patients, but also perform Receptionist duties.

Our patients can also access phlebotomy clinics held by NHS Lanarkshire staff at Lady Home Hospital. These appointments can be booked via our reception team.

The Practice Manager is Lynn Baird. Her role is to ensure that the Practice runs smoothly and she deals with any suggestions or complaints from patients

Laure Flowerdew is our Finance Manager.

Our practice administrative team have been specially trained to assist you.

The Secretaries - Lynn and Sheila are here to provide secretarial services to the Practice Team.

The District Nurses work with the Doctor and perform nursing procedures in your home for anyone not able to come to the Surgery. The District Nurses can be contacted Monday to Friday 8.45am to 4.45pm on 01555 851446. Messages can be left on the Answering Machine when the District Nurses are visiting patients.

The Health Visitors are general Nurses with further training in health care for all ages, but especially families with young children. They offer a service at home or at the Practice.
